UK’s ‘Loaded’ Magazine Shutting Down After 21 Years Of Publication

It’s a sad time for many men in Britain as a popular men’s magazine in the country has shut down.
After entertaining their readers for 21 years and being the leading magazine during the lad mag boom back in the 1990’s, U.K.’s Loaded magazine has called it quits.

The Guardian is reporting that the publishers of the Magazine, in a statement, said that this month’s issue will be the last.
“As of the current April issue, published on March 26th, ‘Loaded’ will cease to trade as a printed magazine…We would like to pay tribute to our customers, staff and especially our contributors and editorial team.”

David Sillito, who is the media and arts correspondent at BBC, said that the sales of the magazine had fallen drastically over the years despite it having a huge impact on male culture and fashion in the country.

“Drinking, football, drugs, music and pictures of girls usually wearing only underwear or less, ‘Loaded’ defined the ‘lad’ culture of the 1990s. But things have moved on. Sales have in 15 years fallen from 350, 000 to around 30, 000. Its weekly rival Nuts has already gone under.”

Fans have moved to social media as expected to express their sadness of the news that this month’s issue of Loaded will e the last. The magazine’s deputy Editor Lia Nicholls also popped up on the social media to confirm the news that the magazine was truly shutting down.
